Subject: Miracle Mile

Hi George,

In case and of your club members are in town this Friday, we will be
having our annual mile run and picnic at Balaclava Park.  No entry
fees but guaranteed fun and post-race refereshments.  We will set up
races at about 6pm, with the first run going about 6:30.  We will even
have a 4 x 440yd relay for fun.  The cross streets are Carnarvon and
West 29th-West 31st.

All comers are welcome as we celebrate the anniversary of the famous
Miracle Mile held at Empire Stadium in 1954.  The track at Balaclava
Park is an old 440yd track used by Roger Bannister when he was
training for the big Commonwealth games Mile race back in 54, the
first race in which two runners (Bannister and Landy) dipped under 4
minutes.

Cheers,

Roger
