Pinetree notes about the race

Notes About Pinetree Results
I'd like to thank everyone for coming out to Mundy Park yesterday and tackling our challenging hilly courses. It was inspiring to see so many young runners between 8 and 12 years old completing a 3K course that was longer and more difficult than they had expected. My apologies for the last minute changes that we had to make in the start/finish areas and the course distances. We were not allowed to use the soccer field that we had booked for the meet, due to field reconstruction.
We have posted preliminary results (see the post below this one.) Clicking on the link will take you to a page that asks you to download a file from BoxNet. This will give you Excel spreadsheets of all the races. Look at the bottom of the sheet to click on the race results you wish to view.
There are many, many errors in the name spellings and a lot of first name/last name reversals as well. We are working to make corrections and will post new versions by Wednesday. Results won't be posted on the BC Athletics site until the corrections are made.
The times are accurate but the courses were not measured; the distances listed are approximate and it was a tough hilly course, so if your time seems slow to you, don't be discouraged!
Enjoy the fall XC series, everyone.

IMPORTANT! New Start/Finish area for Pinetree Classic
New Start/Finish/Registration Area for Pinetree Classic
Hello Fellow Runners,
Three days ago our City Parks Department informed us that we could not use the soccer field north of Spani Pool for the start/finish of our races. Even though we reserved the field six weeks ago, they are having work done on it and will not allow us to use it.
The start/finish/registration will now be in a small parking lot BEHIND Spani Pool. You can still park in the main Spani Pool parking lot as in other years. If you then head behind the pool, you will see the registration and start areas. You can also park in the gravel parking lot off Wilmot St., which is just south of the Spani Pool lot. Head north from the gravel parking lot (there is an open area with paths, disc golf and ponds) and you will reach the Spani Pool area.
The race courses will be the same as shown on the maps EXCEPT for the first/last 800metres or so. There will be maps posted in the registration area. The new courses will be somewhat shorter than the advertised distances.
I apologize for this late change but our club was given no choice, and little time to prepare for this.

volunteer required
Hi Everyone,
Our club will be hosting the Pinetree Cross-Country meet this September, as we have done for many years. This year's date is Saturday, September 19. I am hoping that most of our members can volunteer to help out on the day.
However, one of the big jobs before race day is to do the data entry for all the pre-registered runners and to prepare numbers for them. Most of this work gets done in the few days before the race. I'm going to be a full-time student in September and I desperately need someone to assist me with pre-registration. If you think you could help, please contact me at nancy_tinari@yahoo.com or (604) 469-7946.
